# Free AI Readiness Checker

**Scan your website in 20 seconds.** No credit card required. No email required. Just free advice.

We check robots.txt, llms.txt, structured data, homepage clarity, and AI-crawler discoverability — and return a 0–100 readiness score with exactly what to fix. Run it interactively at http://www.whosbest.org/check.

## How to check your site in 4 steps

1. **Enter your website URL.** Type or paste the URL of any public site — for example https://example.com — into the input on the page.
2. **Run the scan.** Click Check. The checker fetches and analyzes robots.txt, llms.txt, homepage content, structured data, and accessibility signals in under 30 seconds.
3. **Review your AI-readiness score.** You receive a 0–100 score plus a per-dimension breakdown showing exactly which checks passed and which need attention.
4. **Apply the recommendations.** Each failed check includes an actionable fix you can implement yourself or hand to your developer.

## What the score covers

| Dimension | What is checked |
| --- | --- |
| robots.txt | Presence, parse errors, AI-crawler user-agent permissions, sitemap directive |
| llms.txt | Presence at /llms.txt, structure (H1 + summary + link sections) |
| Homepage | Title, meta description, H1 / headline clarity, value proposition, JSON-LD structured data, semantic HTML |
| Discoverability | sitemap.xml, canonical URL, Open Graph tags, response speed, mobile responsiveness |

## API usage

The same scan is available as a JSON API (rate-limited; no authentication required):

```bash
curl -X POST http://www.whosbest.org/api/v1/validator/check \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d '{"url": "https://example.com", "keepPrivate": false}'
```

Response fields include `domain`, `totalScore`, `scoreGrade`, per-section scores (`robotsScore`, `llmsScore`, `homepageScore`, `discoverabilityScore`), `issues`, `wins`, `recommendations` and `checkedAt`. Set `keepPrivate` to `true` to keep the domain off the public leaderboard. Recent public checks: `GET http://www.whosbest.org/api/v1/validator/recent`; top scores: `GET http://www.whosbest.org/api/v1/validator/top-scores`.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is AI readiness?

AI readiness is how well a website is structured for AI crawlers and answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude to discover, cite, and quote its content. High-readiness sites use llms.txt, JSON-LD structured data, semantic HTML, and unambiguous statements of fact.

### How long does the scan take?

Most sites finish in 10–25 seconds. The tool runs network checks in parallel and streams results.

### Do I need to sign up or pay?

No. The AI Readiness Checker is free. No account, no email, no credit card required. Optionally tick "Hide my results" if you don't want your score on the public leaderboard.

### What does the score check?

Robots.txt + llms.txt presence and configuration, sitemap discoverability, homepage clarity (headline + value prop), structured data (JSON-LD), semantic HTML, response speed, mobile responsiveness, and AI-crawler user-agent permission.

### Is this the same thing as a Lighthouse audit?

No. Lighthouse focuses on performance, accessibility, and traditional SEO. This tool focuses on Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and AI-crawler readiness — what AI systems need to confidently cite your site.
